BRISBANE SPEAKER SERIES – Lunch with Grant Bush, Deputy CEO, Queensland Treasury Corporation
Thursday, 9th May @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pmFree – $120.00
FEI is fortunate to welcome Grant Bush, Deputy CEO of Queensland Treasury Corporation to kick off our Brisbane Speaker Series in 2019.
Queensland Treasury Corporation is unique among Australia’s central funding authorities as a corporation sole, with an independent Board. It has a broad remit that covers the traditional debt funding and cash management but also financial risk management and, in conjunction with the University of Queensland, specialist public finance education to the Queensland public sector. The organisation has hit several firsts, providing financial expertise for Projects Queensland, the QR National sell down and the Boundaries Commission and being the first semi-government issuer to issue $A bonds directly to the US debt capital markets.
But, like business everywhere, it has not been immune to change. Around two years ago it embarked on a major organisational transformation program which dramatically changed its operating model and it is keeping a close eye on capital markets innovation, participating in a world-first trial of a ‘virtual crypto-bond’ using blockchain technology.
Come along and hear Grant share his experience of managing through change, the impact of new technology in global financial markets, and the evolution of his own career in the process. Grant joined QTC in 2015 after being a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets and Treasury Solutions for Deutsche Bank in Australia. He has a depth of experience in fixed income capital markets gained at Deutsche Bank and BZW.
